JYP earn their spot in the ZEN Asia-Pacific League following a 2-0 victory against Risky in the last chance qualifier.
The remaining two spots were originally going to go to two invited teams from Asia. Unfortunately, it turns out the organiser of the league could not grab a team from China to participate.
Therefore ESL Australia have decided to give second chances to the runners-up of the South-East Asia and East Asia qualifiers to fight for one of the available spots.
pzK!D displayed a dominating performance in the LCQ
Coming into the last chance qualifier, the Malaysian roster from the SEA qualifier, JYP faced off against the United Arab Emirates squad, Risky from the East Asia qualifier, in a best-of-three match.
An impressive showing from Aaron "pzK!D" Pereira on the CT side gave the JYP squad an easy 14-1 half on Risky's map pick, Train. The Emiratis were hanging on with a few signs of life on their defensive side until the Malaysians comfortably won 16-6, that resulted from Idzni "Click-" Rosdi's 1v2 post-plant clutch.
The second map of the showdown was more intense between the two teams, where Cobblestone went into overtime. Despite Mohammed "k1tkat" Al-Nuaimi's efforts in helping Risky reach map point first at 15-11, the team failed to close the map earlier and eventually allowed Andrew "kaze" Khong and company to pull off the comeback in the end.
